For his birthday, Evan wanted a microscope. He told me and it immediately sent me into flashbacks of 9th grade biology class, trying not to crash the long objective through the glass slides. Yeesh.
"Where are we going to store a microscope, Evan? What do you want that for? Why? How?...". I suppose I just wasn't thinking out of the box enough. His birthday passed and he didn't get a microscope. But two weeks later... I found the PERFECT one and ordered it on the spot.
I didn't even know these things existed until the SALE section of Urban Outfitters (how predictable of me to be lurking there often enough to find random things like microscopes). They had this Celestron Handheld Digital Microscope powered by a USB that just plugs into the computer and works. You can take photo and video with it, too! OMG, and, it's super tiny! The box it came in is half the size of a shoe box. And we all know that I can find room enough for plenty of those.
How unselfish of me!
I gave him the microscope and he was sooo excited. I was too, honestly, because it takes digital photos. Can't go wrong with that! We played around a bit and here are our results so far.

If you have any suggestions of other boring things we can look at really close, let me know!! I'll take photos of any requests and post them!
