Leanne Marshall has been one of those Project Runway designers that I just can't forget about. I felt strongly about her final collection on the show and just love her technique driven aesthetic. I was really excited to see what she would do once she was off on her own without the show being involved.
She showed at NYFW recently and it was such a beautiful collection!! She was inspired by topography and you can totally see that inspiration translated in that Leanne way.
For me, the stand-out piece is really the multi-layered cutout skirt. It's made out of felt, actually, if you look closely at it. That piece seems the most pushed...idea wise, and she apparently was working on that piece at the last minute the night before! Maybe she missed Project Runway and wanted to give herself that ol' feeling again...hoping Tim would walk into the room and tell her he was flabbergasted by her resplendent consummation.
That layering and cutout technique is really beautiful and inspirational... right?!
